Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. This was the moment that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first released music online in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. She continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. On 21st of July the 21st of July in 2015 Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then, wanted to have her create Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. On December 8 it was revealed that she had signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. Her Pho EP was released on her debut album on Oct 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed in the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening act. In 2018, she went on to guest feature on two songs with her labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video for it was also released on September 5th. In November, she dropped two singles, 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two singles more were released on the 11th of November, titled Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on November 16. In February 2019 the music video for the song was released. The song has received more than 3 million YouTube views in just one week. In December 2018, she was part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
